Always try to logon to webmail by typing the full URL in the address bar ( https://bose.res.in/webmail ). | Do not allow your web browser to remember and store your passwords for automatic logon. |
Before typing your USERID and PASSWORD please ensure that the URL of the login page starts with the text 'https://' and is not 'http://'. The 's' stands for 'secured', and indicates that the web page uses Encryption. | Do not click on any link, which has come through e-mail from an unknown source. It may contain malicious code or could be a 'Phishing attack'. |
Enter your USERID and PASSWORD only at the authenticated login page. | Do not provide any information on a page which might have come up as a pop-up window. |
Provide your personal details over Phone/Internet only if you have initiated a call or session and the counterpart has been duly authenticated by you. | Never provide your password over the phone or in response to any unsolicited request over e-mail |
Please remember that Computer Centre would never ask you to verify your account information through an e-mail or any online form. Please ignore any such messages. | Always remember that information like USERID, PASSWORD, etc. are strictly confidential and are not known even to employees/service personnel of the Centre. You should therefore, never divulge such information even if asked for by anybody. |
If you suspect that your account has been compromised or you notice some suspicious activity in your account, you should immediately change the password of your email account and notify the System Administrator about the incident immediately. | Do not use computers of places like Cyber Cafe to access your email account.
